This exhibition is designed to draw the attention of all stakeholders. The fishing industry is not just about going to the sea or rivers and catching fish; many interconnected aspects are involved. Hence, special attention has been given to it in the 2026 budget.
A total of 10.6 billion rupees has been allocated to develop the fishing industry, with an additional 2 billion rupees allocated during budget committee discussions. Funds have also been set aside for the construction of fishing ports.
Under the National People’s Power Government, every measure is being taken to develop the fishing industry. Our goal is to enhance the productive economy, and the modernisation of the fishing industry is part of this plan.
We meet with fishing families personally to address their challenges. Through the fishing industry, we aim to contribute to the national economy and generate foreign exchange. Everyone must play their part in this effort.”
