The new house (28) constructed in the Meesalai East area of ​​Thenmarachchi, Jaffna under the housing project implemented under the guidance of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake was officially handed over to the beneficiaries.

It is remarkable that the construction of this house, of which the foundation stone was laid on January 17, was completed within a short period of three months at a cost of Rs. 2 million. The Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean  Resources, Ramalingam Chandrasekar, attended the event as the chief guest and opened the new house and handed it over to the beneficiary family.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the house, the Minister stated that this is not just a building but a center that ensures the security of a family, the future dreams of children and the mental freedom of parents. He also said that this housing project can be described as an urgent step in the practical fulfillment of the promises made by the current government to the people.

The Minister said that the work of providing houses to many more families under the theme "A Place to Belong - A Beautiful Life" will continue, and emphasized that a program to develop housing, education, health and infrastructure facilities in the northern region will continue.

The event was attended by the National People's Power Jaffna District Parliamentarian, K. Ilangumaran, Thenmarachchi Divisional Secretary, Francis Chandra Sathyasothi, Jaffna District Coordinating Committee Chairman's Coordinator and Jaffna Municipal Councilor, Sundaramurthy Kabilan, Thenmarachchi Organizer of the National People's Power, Karalasingham Prakash, Pradeshiya Sabha Member Mrs. Vennila and the Chairman of the Social Power Council M. Kajan, along with many government officials and residents of the area.
