As per the complaint made to the Minister of Fisheries, by the fishmongers from Peliyagoda central fish market complex, regarding the supply of ice for 850 rupees per 50 kilogram, to Peliyagoda central fish market, the minister called the traders association of Peliyagoda central fish market complex, relevant officials and the ice suppliers, and instructed the ice suppliers to supply ice for 650 rupees per 50 kilogram.
Ice suppliers, the owners of fish stalls and the officials agreed to the proposal of the minister and as a result of this measure consumers will be benefitted due to the price reduction of ice.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries Mrs. Indu Rathnayake, Director General of Fisheries Department Mr. Susantha Kahawaththa and a group of officials attended the meeting.
