Issuing his New Year message, the Minister emphasized that recovery does not merely mean returning to the previous situation, but moving towards a stronger, more resilient and improved future.
He stated that although the country has suffered significant losses due to disasters, Sri Lanka will undoubtedly rise again.
This recovery, he stressed, must go beyond restoring what was lost and instead aim at achieving a higher level of development through collective effort and shared responsibility.
Extending his heartfelt New Year wishes to the public, the Minister highlighted the vital role of the fisheries, aquatic and ocean resources sector in ensuring national economic growth and food security.
“The dedication and commitment of those engaged in the fisheries and related sectors have become a strong foundation for the country’s development,” he noted.
Minister Chandrasekar further expressed his hope that the coming year would bring sustainable livelihoods, inclusive development and improved well-being for all.
He concluded by wishing that the New Year would spread peace, unity, prosperity and renewed hope across the homes and hearts of the people.
