The loading of Ocean Star Jack Mackerel canned fish produced at the Madurankuliya Ocean Food factory into containers for export was carried out today at the factory premises by the Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Mr. Ratna Gamage.

The launch of the largest fishing vessel manufactured in this country by Danusha Marine was ceremoniously held on 3rd of March at the Dikovita Fishery Harbour under the patronage of the Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Ramalingam Chandrasekar, and the Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunnetti.
Release of 60,000 fish fry into the Koggala lagoon has taken place on the 26th of February at the Kathaluwa Gurukanda landing site with the objective of increasing the fish harvest of the fishermen employed in the fishing industry
