A discussion was held on 2023-06-06 at the Ministry of Fisheries, in connection with the issues brought up during the recent tour of Minister Douglas Devananda to inspect Chilaw Lagoon.

As per the complaint made to the Minister of Fisheries, by the fishmongers from Peliyagoda central fish market complex, regarding the supply of ice for 850 rupees per 50 kilogram, to Peliyagoda central fish market, the minister called the traders association of Peliyagoda central fish market complex, relevant officials and the ice suppliers, and instructed the ice suppliers to supply ice for 650 rupees per 50 kilogram.
A group of Representatives from the European Union including the European Union Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mr. Denis Chaibi met the Fisheries Minister on 2023-05-24 at the Ministry of Fisheries.
