WhatsApp Image 2025 12 24 at 17.30.57A successful discussion was held on December 16th between Dr. Kolitha Kamal Jinadasa, Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, and a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), including its Chief Representative in Sri Lanka, Mr. Kuronuma Kenji. The meeting focused on identifying key priorities for rebuilding the fisheries sector in the post-disaster context.

The discussion cenනවීකරණයtered on obtaining JICA's support for four key areas: harbor modernization, developing aquaculture with new technology, ensuring the safety of small vessels, and developing the cold chain.

JICA responded positively to these proposals and agreed to propose a new project targeting the fisheries sector in the future.
