Ceremonial opening of the newly constructed Research and Training Center Building of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, Kilinochchi was held on 25.01.2021 with the assistance of the Government of Japan.

National Apprenticeship and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) and the Ministry of Fisheries held a discussion today at the Ministry of Fisheries under the patronage of Hon.State minister Kanchana Wijesekera (26.01.2021) on the program that provide vocational training, technical training and professional certification to stakeholders in the fisheries, ornamental fisheries and freshwater fisheries industries.

Kanchana Wijesekera, State minister for Fisheries, who visited the Udawalawe Fisheries Field recently, said that less than 2% of Sri Lanka's water resources are still being utilized for the freshwater fisheries industry.
