Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Hon. Ramalingam Chandraseker, held discussions on initiating and strengthening the ornamental fish production industry in the Northern and Eastern Provinces.
The Ministry of Fisheries has introduced a strategic plan aimed at developing the freshwater and ornamental fishing industries in the Ratnapura District.
The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources announced on 29th of October that the multi-day fishing vessel IMUL-A-0066-MTR, which set out from the Devundara Fisheries Harbour, Matara for fishing on 31st of August, capsized in international waters near the Maldives.
