The Kurunegala District Fisheries Coordination Committee meeting was held successfully yesterday (11) under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Hon. Rathna Gamage.

With the aim of providing urgent solutions to the problems faced by the fishing community in the Puttalam District, the second District Fisheries Coordination Committee meeting was held yesterday (11) at the Puttalam District Secretariat under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Rathna Gamage.

The Ministry of Fisheries has launched an urgent islandwide program to fully restore the boats and fishing gear damaged by Cyclone Ditwah within six (06) months. This initiative is being jointly implemented by the Cey-Nor Foundation and North Sea, institutions operating under the Ministry.
