Ramalingam Chandrasekar, Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, met with Her Excellency Ms. Trinh Thi Tam, Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, to discuss advancing bilateral cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture.
Minister of fisheries aquatic and ocean resources Hon. Ramalingum Chandrasekar has requested from the government to raise job opportunities for Sri Lankan fisherman in the Korean job market with the objectives of raising employment opportunities for the Sri Lankan fisherman, increasing training opportunities and upgrading their livelihood.
A crucial stakeholder meeting convened on January 19, 2025, at the Ministry of Fisheries to formalize and revitalize Sri Lanka's shrimp industry. Chaired by Deputy Minister Rathna Gamage, the meeting brought together key players, including NAQDA, NARA, industry associations, and provincial representatives.
