The "National Fishing Vessel Census - 2025", which aims at the sustainable development and digitization of the country's fisheries industry after more than a decade, was officially launched 04th of August at the Panadura Fishery Harbour under the patronage of the Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Mr. Ramalingam Chandrasekar, and the Deputy Minister, Mr. Rathna Gamage.
A special coordination committee meeting was held at the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat on 2nd of August to discuss the issues facing by the inland fishing community in the Polonnaruwa District.
The training workshop on Risk Management was successfully concluded on 28.07.2025 at the auditorium of National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources and all affiliated institutions of it.
