In line with the upcoming World Fisheries Day, Sri Lanka has launched two major capacity-building workshops aimed at strengthening small-scale fisheries management at both national and international levels.
A delegation led by Mr. Yan Xijun, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial People's Congress of China, met with Mr. Ramalingam Chandrasekhar, Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, yesterday.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement for the establishment of modern Marine Radio Communication and Emergency Response Units (MRCU) at the fishing ports of Valachchenai, Trincomalee and Myliddy was signed today at the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Marine Resources.
